Cladding Reports and Testing

Cladding Reports and Testing

What We Offer

Our specialist consultants provide investigations and reports on the safety of your cladding. Each report is bespoke to you.

As a part of our services we offer a range of options. We can recommend which options you choose, based on which is most relevant to your building.

  • We can visit your building with a consultant and operatives, along with correct access equipment.
  • We provide combustibility testing and can remove a panel to carry out a BRE test.
  • We can carry out a full review of the O&M manuals and architect specifications.
  • We can open up the façade to carry out a full intrusive survey of the sub-structure, fire barriers, insulation and membrane installation plus checking any water proofing and air tightness detailing.
  • Producing specifications for contractors and scrutinising tenders.

Depending on your requirements we will offer a various degree of reports, analysis of materials, and provide feedback on any relevant findings.

Common Concerns

Combustibility Risks

Combustibility risk is a common concern for buildings and a detailed investigation can be carried out to identify if your building is safe or if it requires some work.

We can carry out thorough testing, including BRE materials testing to review the combustibility of your façade.

With regards to fire risks on any treatment it is worth noting that ”Building owners are responsible for determining whether buildings are acceptably fire safe. They are likely to need to appoint professional advisors to assist them” – Department for Communities & Local Government.

Sub-Structure

The sub-structure of a façade is hidden behind panels, making structural concerns and fire risks more difficult to spot. Items such as poorly fitted or loose brackets can be identified by looking behind panels of the surface cladding.

To find out more about how we would be able to take a look behind your cladding, to inspect the sub-structure of your building, do get in touch.

Fire Barriers and Insulation

Fire barriers, insulation and membrane installation are all crucial aspects of a façade to prevent the spreading of fire. When cladding is not effective at minimising combustibility risk, often problems can include air gaps between insulation and poor installation of fire barriers etc.

Water Proofing

The connection between in your cladding and any interfaces can be a common concern for water proofing and ingress. Aged cladding or poor installation can cause leaks, which if left unattended can cause more costly water damage.

We check water proofing and carry out air tightness detailing as party of our investigation.
