What We Offer

We are specialist consultants that carry out testing on your large-scale glazing and curtain walling. We carry out safety investigations and provide bespoke reports.

As part of the investigation we consider important factors such as air leakages and acoustic issues that may have an impact on your building.

Your custom report will include a review of common concerns such as water ingress, stability of the connections and structure and the combustibility risks of your façade. As well as providing more individualised insights into any other important concerns that we find during our investigations. These reports include a thorough inspection of glazing panels and connections, as well as the structural integrity of your glass walling.

 

 

Common Concerns

Water Ingress

 

Windows and curtain walling can leak, a common cause are failures to connections, gaskets failing or bad workmanship. Glazing elements are typically adjacent to other Façade treatments, which means there are multiple connections between interfaces for water to seep through.

Roof Lights are also a common cause of water ingress. A badly fitted rooflight or an incorrect pitch will eventually leak.

We investigate and report on the best course of remedial action to cure the issue.

 

Fire Rating and Bomb Proofing

 

We assess the fire rating and bomb proofing capabilities of your façade. This includes looking at the raw materials used as well as the construction methods, to asses both combustibility and explosion risks.

We highlight your level of responsibility with regards to the combustibility of your façade. Providing clear, written information on any aspects of your building that you may need to be aware of. We also advise, where relevant, on recommended glazing materials for use in any remedial works to increase the safety level of your building.

 

Replacement Glass

 

Spontaneous failure or breaking down of multiple units can require replacement glass panels.

Nickel sulphide bubbles or excessively tight fittings can cause spontaneous breakages in toughened glass. We can investigate, get to the issue causing the problem and give advice on the best course of action.

 

Replacement Frames

 

Large scale windows and curtain walling can require remedial works due to damage over time or poor installation. We can investigate for failures and advise on replacement for commercial buildings, large residential blocks or large buildings such as schools and hospitals.
